General Rules

 

  • Everyone can participate in the Kioskedia Award and submit their designs. Art and design studios, companies, brands, students, artists, and freelance designers from all around the world and from various disciplines are welcome to take part.

 

  • The registration and submission process is entirely online, and you can upload your designs from anywhere in the world.

 

  • Participation and submission of designs in all categories are open to all participants.

 

  • Each participant may submit an unlimited number of designs or projects. For each design or project, you must create a separate entry, provide its related descriptions and images individually on the website, and pay the submission fee for each separately.

 

  • Students who wish to participate in the student category (with the student entry fee) must upload a valid student ID card or an official enrollment certificate on the website.

 

  • Graduates can participate in the student category (with the student entry fee) up to one year after graduation, but they are also free to participate in other categories.

 

  • Projects, products, and designs can be submitted in either of the following formats:

1) Concept or render of the design

2) Photographs of the completed project, product, or design

 

  • Projects copied from other designs will be disqualified.

 

  • Designs that have used  AI (artificial intelligence) must be submitted in the AI category.

 

Account types

01.Art and Design Studio/ Company/ Brand

• If you are joining to showcase your studio, company, or brand's projects, you should choose 01.Art and Design Studio/ Company/ Brand account type.

02. Independent Artist and Designer / Freelancer

• If you are joining as a freelancer artist and designer, you should choose 02. Independent Artist and Designer account type.

03. Art and Design Student

• If you are joining as an art and design student, you should choose 03. Art and Design Student account type.

Submission Requirements

VERY IMPORTANT: No name, surname, or logo of the designer(s) must appear in any of the renderings or photographs submitted for participation in the award. Inclusion of any identifying information about the designer(s) will lead to disqualification and removal of the work from the award. Participants have no right to appeal in this matter. • To ensure fair and unbiased evaluation by the jury, the names of the designer(s), company, brand, and any identifying information will be completely hidden from all judges throughout the evaluation process. • The entire submission process is online, and all designer(s) information and project/work details must be entered exclusively through the official website of the Kioskedia International Award. • First, complete your profile through the Login/Register button on the top of the Kioskedia Award website. At each step, enter the requested information exactly in the designated sections on the website and submit your project accordingly. • If you have uploaded a project on the website but did not complete the final submission process, and later wish to edit, update, and finalize the same project, please log in to your account on the Kioskedia Award website. Click on the “Me” option at the top of the website, then select “My Projects Management”. Choose the desired project, click on “Complete Project Information”, fill in the remaining details, and proceed with the final payment. Once completed, your project will be officially submitted. • Entering information in incorrect sections will result in disqualification and removal of the work from the award. Note: Due to the presence of international jurors, all descriptions must be entered in English. • The information requested on the website at the time of submission includes: 1. Project or design name 2. Main function or purpose of the design 3. Name(s) of the designer(s) or design team members 4. Year of design 5. Credits (if there are individuals responsible for rendering, photography, etc.) 6. Project description (maximum 1,000 characters) 7. Name and logo of the university/company/brand/art or design studio (for independent or freelance designers, logo upload is not mandatory) 8. The logo must be 200 x 200 pixels 9. Maximum file size for each project image is 2 MB, in JPEG format • Projects/products/designs can be submitted in two forms: 1. Concept or rendering of the design/project/product 2. Photograph of the realized or manufactured project/product • Designs and projects can have one or multiple designers. If there are multiple designers, all names must be listed in the relevant “Designers” section on the website. If there are additional contributors such as photographers, render artists, etc., their names must also be listed under the “Credits” section. All names must be entered at the time of registration. No changes, deletions, or additions to the list of designers or credited individuals will be possible after the results are announced. If any member of the team, whether intentionally or unintentionally — fails to include another member or credited person, the organizer bears no responsibility in this regard. All legal accountability for any potential claim from individuals or entities rests solely with the participants. If it is proven that a designer/team/member has misused another person’s name or credit, the organizer reserves the right to disqualify the entry and, if the work has already been awarded, to revoke the prize and title. Participants have no right to appeal such decisions. • Each designer or design team may submit an unlimited number of projects. For each project, a separate submission must be created on the Kioskedia Award website, including its own descriptions and images, and the entry fee for each project must be paid separately. • Each project must be presented on a minimum of 3 sheets and a maximum of 6 sheets, in A3 size (horizontal or vertical). Preferably, include one image per sheet. If more than one image is placed on a sheet, ensure all images are clear and high-quality. • Entries in the Graphic Design, Photography, Jewelry, and Accessory Design categories may upload a single image as the main/cover image and may leave the “Additional Images” section empty. • Maximum file size for each image: 2 MB, JPEG format only. • Video submission is not allowed. • Layout sheets are not required. Preferably, include one image per A3 sheet. If more than one image is placed on a single sheet, please ensure high image quality. • If you wish to provide additional optional materials such as more images, drawings, details, or other information, you may prepare a PDF file in A3 size with no page limit and upload it in the designated PDF upload section on the website under “Images.” Important: Projects that have utilized Artificial Intelligence (AI) in any part of their process must be entered in the AI category. • The participant is responsible for the originality of the work and the accuracy of all information and statements provided regarding the ownership of the work, its creators, licences, rights related to the work, and the participant’s statements concerning the work. The participant confirms that the uploaded images and content have not been copied from works belonging to other individuals, designers, companies, institutions, or brands and, where third-party content has been used, that the participant holds the necessary legal permission. • The images uploaded by the participant must not be copied from another design or belong to another person, company, or brand, whether natural or legal. The participant is responsible for responding to any claims made by natural or legal persons concerning the ownership of the submitted work, and the organiser bears no responsibility in this regard. Responsibility for responding to any claim or demand by natural or legal persons concerning the originality, ownership, or rights related to the work rests with the participant, and the organiser shall not be responsible for any incorrect, incomplete, or false information provided by the participant. • If an infringement of intellectual property rights or copyright is established, or if the participant’s work is objectively and substantially copied from another work, or if there is unauthorised use of the work of a third party or another brand, or if false information is provided, the organiser has the right to exclude the participant’s work from the Award. If the work has won, the organiser has the right to revoke the awarded ranking and title, and the participant is required to return the received trophy and certificate to the organiser and remove the revoked title and ranking from their résumé, website, all social media pages, and media. The organiser also has the right to remove the work and the revoked title and ranking from all Award platforms, including the website, Instagram, and the digital edition of the winners’ book, and the participant has no right to object in this regard. • Force Majeure Conditions The organizer shall not be liable for any delay, disruption, modification, cancellation, or failure to perform its obligations arising from Force Majeure circumstances and events beyond its control. Such events include, but are not limited to, war and civil unrest, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics and public health emergencies, government actions, sanctions, trade embargoes, strikes, infrastructure disruptions including the internet, other similar circumstances, and any other event beyond the reasonable control of the organizer. If a Force Majeure event occurs in the country of residence of the organizer, the principal decision-makers, or Kioskedia’s key leadership, the organizer has the right to postpone, reschedule, or cancel any award cycle, ceremony, or deadline; modify registration, submission, judging, and announcement procedures; extend deadlines; or temporarily suspend access to the Award platforms. Participants expressly acknowledge and agree that, in the event of the complete cancellation of an award cycle due to Force Majeure, the registration fee shall not be refundable, and participants shall not be entitled to claim compensation, a prize, title, recognition, or any other remedy.

Intellectual property rights

  • • The intellectual and moral property rights belong to the owner of the work, and if the submitted work does not win, Kioskedia will not publish it. • By submitting the work, the participant confirms that they are the owner of the work or possess the legal authority and permission required to register, submit, have it judged, display, and publish it. If the work has been designed for an employer, company, institution, university, or third party, obtaining the necessary permissions is the responsibility of the participant. • The responsibility for obtaining permission to use any photograph, image, font, music, video, logo, trademark, map, three-dimensional model, text, software, stock content, or other elements belonging to third parties rests with the participant. The use of such elements must be clearly disclosed at the time of registering the work. • Responsibility for the originality of the work and the accuracy of all information and statements provided regarding the ownership of the work, creators, permissions, rights related to the work, and the participant’s statements regarding the work rests with the participant. The participant confirms that the uploaded images and content have not been copied from works belonging to other individuals, designers, companies, institutions, or brands and that, where content belonging to third parties has been used, the participant possesses the necessary legal permission. If a design submitted by the participant to enter the Award has been designed for another individual, company, or brand, whether a natural or legal person, the participant must have obtained permission to submit the design to the Award. Responsibility for responding to any claim made by natural or legal persons regarding ownership of the submitted work rests with the participant, and the organizer bears no responsibility in this regard. • Images uploaded by the participant must not be copied from a design belonging to another individual, company, or brand, whether a natural or legal person. Responsibility for responding to any claim made by natural or legal persons regarding ownership of the submitted work rests with the participant, and the organizer bears no responsibility in this regard. Responsibility for responding to any claim, objection, or demand made by natural or legal persons regarding the originality, ownership, authorship, permissions, or other rights related to the work rests with the participant. The organizer shall not be responsible for incorrect, incomplete, or false information provided by the participant. • If a violation of intellectual property rights (copyright), objective and substantial copying of the participant’s work from another work, unauthorized use of the work of a third party or another brand, or the provision of false information is established, the organizer has the right to remove the participant’s work from the Award and, if the work has won, to revoke the awarded ranking and title. The participant shall be required to return the received trophy and certificate to the organizer, remove the revoked title and ranking from their résumé, website, all social media pages, and media, refrain from any further use of the Award title or mark, and the organizer shall also have the right to remove the work, revoked title, and ranking from all Award platforms, including the website, Instagram, and the digital edition of the Winners’ Book. The participant shall have no right to object in this regard. If Kioskedia incurs any cost or loss as a result of false information, lack of legal permission, or breach of the participant’s obligations, the participant shall be required to compensate for such costs and losses. • Kioskedia is solely the organizer of the Award and the provider of the process for the registration, submission, and judging of works by the Jury Board and has no obligation to investigate, establish, or guarantee the originality, ownership, authorship, or legal status of the submitted works. All legal, financial, and contractual responsibilities relating to the originality of the work, its ownership, required permissions, copyright, and other rights of third parties rest exclusively with the participant and the persons associated with the work. • Kioskedia and the members of the Jury Board are not a judicial authority, an arbitral institution, an official intellectual property authority or expert body, or an authority responsible for resolving disputes between participants and third parties. Neither Kioskedia nor the members of the Jury Board shall be considered a party to any dispute, claim, complaint, or legal action concerning alleged copying, authorship, ownership, misappropriation of a work, attribution, permissions, licences, or any other third-party rights. • The role of Kioskedia and the members of the Jury Board is limited to evaluating the works based on the artistic and design criteria and the internal regulations of the Award. Any decision regarding the acceptance, suspension, removal, publication, or ranking of a work relates solely to the status of that work within the framework of the Award and does not constitute a legal judgment or confirmation regarding originality, ownership, absence of copying, or infringement of third-party rights. • In the event of any claim or complaint, responsibility for responding, defending, providing documents, and resolving the matter rests directly with the participant and the persons involved in the creation, ownership, submission, or publication of the work. Kioskedia shall not be responsible for any losses, costs, or consequences arising from incorrect information, defects in intellectual property rights, infringement of third-party rights, or disputes related to the work, and all responsibility rests entirely with the participant. • The names of all designers of the work and all persons credited for photography, rendering, or other contributions must be entered accurately on the website at the time of registration. After winning, no change, removal, or addition to the names of designers or credited persons shall be possible. If any member of the team intentionally or unintentionally fails to mention the name of a member of the design team or a credited person, the organizer shall bear no responsibility in this regard, and responsibility for responding to any claim made by natural or legal persons rests with the participants. If misuse of another person’s name or credit by the designer, team, or any member of the team is established, the organizer has the right to remove the participant’s work from the Award and, if the work has won, to revoke the awarded ranking and title. The participant shall be required to return the received trophy and certificate to the organizer, remove the revoked title and ranking from their résumé, website, all social media pages, and media, refrain from any further use of the Award title or mark, and the organizer shall also have the right to remove the work, revoked title, and ranking from all Award platforms, including the website, Instagram, and the digital edition of the Winners’ Book. The participant shall have no right to object in this regard. If Kioskedia incurs any cost or loss as a result of false information, lack of legal permission, or breach of the participant’s obligations, the participant shall be required to compensate for such costs and losses. • In group works, the person who uploads the design through their panel on the Kioskedia Award website shall be regarded as the representative of all group members and confirms that they have obtained the necessary consent and authority from all team members for registering the work, declaring the names of the members, receiving correspondence, publishing the work, and accepting the regulations. If Kioskedia provides information on any matter to the group representative or any group member, responsibility for fully and accurately communicating the information to the other members rests with that person, and they must communicate the information provided by Kioskedia exactly to the other group members. The other group members shall have no right to object to Kioskedia on the grounds that they were not informed of the information. • Works in which artificial intelligence has been used must be entered in the Artificial Intelligence Category. If generative artificial intelligence tools have been used in any way in the production, development, or editing of the main content of the work, the participant is required to enter the work in the Artificial Intelligence Category. Failure to register the work in the Artificial Intelligence Category may result in rejection of the work or revocation of the ranking. • Kioskedia has the right to freely publish works in exhibitions, printed books, promotional materials, the Award’s social media and website, and other websites for the purpose of introducing the works, and so forth. By submitting the work, the participant grants Kioskedia a non-exclusive, non-transfer-of-ownership, and geographically unrestricted license to publish and republish the work, project name, and registered information for purposes related to judging, promotion, exhibitions, printing and publication of books, websites, social media, public relations, and promotion of the Award. Ownership rights in the work shall remain with its legal owner. • Kioskedia has no obligation to enter into a contract or carry out subsequent stages of design in relation to selected works. • Kioskedia has no obligation to develop selected designs until they become buildable designs or usable products. • The judging system has been designed to a high standard to ensure fair voting, and the works are evaluated based on the announced criteria by the members of the Jury Board. The Jury Board’s decision regarding the artistic and professional evaluation of the works and determination of the results is final within the framework of the Award, and all participants are expected to respect the decision of the Jury Board, whose members are selected from around the world, and shall have no right to object to the result of the Jury Board’s decision.

Each category will have 3 main winners and 10 Honorable Mentions, as follows:

In each category, 10 participants will also be selected by the jury as Honorable Mentions and will receive: a digital certificate of recognition, publication of the design in the digital edition of the Winners’ Book, promotion of the design on the KIOSKedia Awards website, and promotion of the design through the KIOSKedia Awards media

Shipping of the Winner Kit for the Top Three Winners in Each Category

The winners’ kits for the main 3 winners will be mailed to them, and the winners will be responsible for the shipping costs. If the recipient’s information or address is incorrect and the package is returned, the winner will be required to pay the shipping cost again.
