Description

Inspired by the galaxies and the universe which surround us, the endless love for the stars and the mysterious world and concepts they make, a lighting series with the name “Constellation” was born. From time immemorial, people have seen imaginary shapes in the night sky among star clusters. Using lines, they connected the stars of these groups together to form a shape called a constellation. Constellation forms a futuristic design for a lighting. The shade of this table lamp consists of two general forms and the result of repeating these two in a specific pattern creates a three-dimensional and abstract object. In fact, the junctions of this design are the same stars that form the constellation of this lighting. Spring Steel, a flexible form of stainless is the material used to make the three dimensional form of the shade. Smooth edges, curved shapes, visibility of the inner space, the reflection of the shades formed by the lighting gives user a unique and challenging experience. The futuristic form goes well with modern interiors. The project has been designed in 2020 Tehran, Iran. Material used for the shade is CNC lasered spring steel based on a stainless-steel body mixed with black marble stone. The size of the product is 300 mmx= x 300 mm x 420 mm. The complexity of working with spring steel to shape it into a three-dimensional volume and multiple calculations to achieve the correct percentage of tensile and actuation stresses at the junction of the forms that make up the shade of this light eventually turned it into a shape which is entirely handmade.
