Description

Inspired by the 2500 year old Pazyryk carpet, the worlds oldest rug preserved in the Hermitage Museum, PazTab revives the fading presence of carpets in todays minimalist interiors. Its name, a fusion of Paz (Pazyryk) and Tab (Table), echoes the Persian word Baztab, meaning reflection. Two clear Bio PMMA sheets embrace a CNC cut cork layer, reminiscent of the rugs centuries long rest in ice and its natural dyes. Inspired by the central motifs of carpets, including a four petal emblem symbolizing seasons and elements, CNC cut motifs filter light into interactive shadows, with subtle imperfections echoing the rugs aged erosion. With executive dimensions of 160x80x75 cm, the carpet ensures comfort and light duty usability. Sustainable materials align with UN SDG12. The body shaped by innovation (Bio PMMA) and the soul preserved by heritage (cork layer). No longer beneath the table, the carpet lives within its core.
