Description
Driven by low recycling rates and waste volumes that outpace existing systems, Bincoin was designed to transform disposal into an active, rewarded civic behavior. At its core, it is a smart recycling bin that verifies materials via integrated sensors and rewards correct disposal with redeemable credits; turning small actions into lasting habits. Engineered for urban deployment, Bincoin combines an anti-vandal PC/ABS shell, aluminum-stamped structure, and stainless-steel base. A four-load-cell system enables accurate weight-based rewards, while solar power and a LiFePO4 battery ensure energy-independent, year-round operation. Its anthropomorphic form, ergonomic grips, and lockable wheels balance approachability with efficiency. GPS tracking and fullness alerts prevent overflow and optimize collection routes, reducing operational strain. Grounded in user interviews, PESTLE analysis, and Double Diamond framework, Bincoin positions recycling as a shared ritual for a sustainable future.
