Description

Rebooting Forgotten Tracks: Kinta Revival, is a bold urban renewal concept focuses on revitalizing Ipoh Central Market by honoring Perak's tin mining legacy. Inspired by the documentary Tracks Through Time, the design pays tribute to the forgotten Ipoh-Tronoh railway that once powered the tin economy. Architectural elements like corrugated metal, exposed brick, and steel beams evoke the industrial past, while the design philosophy-bold, symmetrical, and repetitive-mirroes the mining processes and rail infrastructure. The project integrates community voices, preserving cultural memory through participatory design. Reviving the iconic Super Kinta brand, the new identity blends nostalgia with innovation, transforming the market into a heritage and lifestyle destination. This initiative isn't just about restoring a building, but reconnection the community to its rich history and propelling it toward a progressive, culturally vibrant future.
