In the design of the Melli Gold jewelry store, our intention was to define the primary space of the project not as a constructed volume, but as a pure and empty spatial void that forms the main platform for the user experience. In this approach, an empty and neutral box was initially considered as the spatial container of the project whose presence is acknowledged prior to any intervention. The architectural intervention then took shape as an independent layer within this void; a volume inserted into the empty space to establish a relationship between the existing space and the new spatial order. Through incision, level variation, and a gradual extension toward the exterior, this volume breaks away from its static state and extends itself toward the urban context. As a result, the entrance is shaped as a natural continuation of the interior space; as if a fragment of the inner space has moved toward the city and audience. Form is the direct outcome of spatial organization and movement.
HORNO Architects, a Shiraz-based studio led by Sahar Ashtianfar and Mohammadreza Taabodi, focuses on contemporary design. The practice emphasizes spatial clarity, material expression, and contextual responsiveness in their architectural projects.
