Description
These days, waste production is one of the biggest global issues. Recycling existing materials are way to prevent the generation of less waste. Therefore, the idea of creating a useful object using recycled materials gave birth to of this bench. This bench is made using 16 recycled cardboard tubes. What sets this bench apart is the placement of these tubes at the minimal contact area of the circular section, as overlapping circles tend to slide and fill the empty area. To solve this problem, recycled plastic parts were designed to prevent lateral movement of the tubes when stacked. Plastic straps under pressure to prevent the overall collapse of the bench. In the design of this bench, all materials were used in their raw, emphasizing their aesthetic appeal. The dimensions are 160*43*43 cm. It can withstand a weight of up to 230 kg, as tested. For long-term use, cushions made of transparent plastic coverings filled with recycled fabrics have been designed and considered an alternative.
